The door lock light is blinking on my front load maytag maxima.

The lid will lock and the machine will enter a pump out mode for 8 minutes.
If not i recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the washer.
Plug the unit back in and see if the controls will respond.
When the lock light is blinking it typically means that the unit either took to long to fill with water in which case it ll go into flood mode and keep draining for 15 20 minutes and unlock on it s own or there is a glitch in the electronics and just unplugging it for 60 seconds will reset the issue.

If that doesn t work leave the washer plugged in for 20 minutes and it should unlock.
This washer has sensors that detect the water supply and requires both hoses to have water going to the water valve.
Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset.
The door should unlock after 60 seconds.
After plugging the washer in one of the following 3 events will happen.
Run a drain and spin cycle.
Reconnect power to washer plug in.
When using one of these cycles the door will remain locked until the cancel button is pushed.
This is all it will do.
So the first thing you ll want to do is just unplug the washer for 60 seconds and see if the latch will reset.
Nothing else will appear to be happening with the machine during this time.
If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power.
You could have a failed control console or a bad electronic control board in the washer.
If the washer does not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the appliance or disconnect power.
The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes.
First it had a code blinking that i looked up and it was for the water so i turned it on and now it is making a humming noise and the door is locked and that is all it will do.
