Without a model number i can t give you a specific answer but if you have a maytag mah style front load washer the door can be unlocked by pulling the release cord located in the dispenser area.
If it does not detect both water supply hoses are turned on the control detects a problem with the water pressure sensor.
Ok so it sounds like your door lock may have failed.
You ll need to remove the top panel to release the door lock and replace the latch assembly if it won t unlock.
Once the washer door is closed the washer can begin operating.
So the first thing you ll want to do is just unplug the washer for 60 seconds and see if the latch will reset.
If door cannot be locked the washer goes into pause mode and a code is generated.
